Missing teeth can make it hard to speak or even eat certain foods. They also may cause you to become self-conscious about smiling around others. Implant-supported dentures will provide you with a complete, natural-looking smile that’ll restore your smile’s appearance and functionality.

If you currently wear dentures, you know how inconvenient they can be. They limit you from eating certain foods due to the fact that they can become loose or even fall out. Dentures also require a sticky adhesive to keep them in place, making them a hassle to take out and clean.

Implant-supported dentures consist of dental implants that stimulate jawbone growth while holding your dentures firmly in place. This allows you to live your life freely without worrying about your replacement teeth not fitting properly.

Receiving a new set of teeth may sound like a scary procedure, but we’ll make sure you’re completely comfortable the entire time and don’t feel any pain or discomfort. We’ll provide you with an anesthetic to numb the area as well as a sedative if you’re extra nervous about the procedure.

Implant-supported dentures are placed in two separate appointments. During the first procedure, Dr. Spector will secure your dental implant fixtures to your jaw. These will be used to support your new restoration. They’ll need time to integrate into your jaw before you can receive your dentures, and this process can take a few weeks or a couple of months.

Once your mouth has completely healed around your implants, you’ll come back to our office to have your beautiful restoration placed. Dr. Spector will secure them by either connecting a ball to each implant or using a bar to snap them in place.

Caring for Your New Smile

Your implant-supported dentures can last many years, but it’s crucial that you take good care of them. Just like your natural teeth, you’ll need to clean them twice a day and visit us regularly to have them professionally cleaned.

Implant-supported dentures are removable to allow for thorough cleaning. It’s essential that you remove them each morning and night for cleaning. First, clean and rinse the attachment pieces, then brush the dentures themselves. Make sure to use a soft-bristled toothbrush and gentle toothpaste so your restoration doesn’t become damaged.
