Try a Haworth Favorite – Terrace Street Café

The best omelet in Haworth. So far, we’ve talked extensively about a variety of dental implant and dental health topics.

When I began my blog, I wanted to use it as a platform to educate you about your dental health.

I also wanted to use it as a way to get Hawthorn engaged in positive discussions about events in our community.

With that being said, over the next few blogs, I’m going to change topics from dental health to talk about some of the local businesses that are making a positive impact in our Haworth community.

When it comes to food in Haworth, NJ, there are a few tasty places to grab a bite to eat. When I go out, I try to eat at local businesses. For one, local restaurants use fresher, more sustainable ingredients.

Local businesses also help stimulate the local economy by keeping money in the community, instead of putting it in the pockets of some conglomerate owning CEO. If there’s one restaurant in Haworth that genuinely reflects what the local movement is all about, it’s Terrace Street Café.

Terrace Street Café not only provides food with the freshest, tastiest ingredients, but it also finds ways to show they’re grateful for their town by supporting the community in local events. For one, they were sponsors of the Haworth 5k Run.

They also do special delivery orders for students throughout the school year. This way, your children are able to eat healthy and delicious meals that will give them the energy they need to get through the school day.

Friendly Food and Service

One of my favorite things in the morning is a good and hearty breakfast and a nice cup of coffee. Terrace Street Café’s breakfast menu carries all of the typical breakfast favorites with a sophisticated twist.

They have a nice selection of omelets, pancakes, and breakfast sandwiches. I haven’t tried their lunch menu, yet, but it looked tasty. The lunch menu has an array of sandwiches, soups, and salads.

Terrace Street Café is still a fairly new business in Hawthorn. It opened its doors in April and has been thriving ever since. The interior is clean, cute, and you can tell they put a lot of thought and effort into their renovation of the building.

The restaurant is cozy with an open counter, so you can smell the coffee brewing and bacon sizzling as soon as you walk in the doors. It’s the perfect size for a little neighborly café with a serene atmosphere. Beyond the food, the friendly customer service makes you feel welcomed.

The lady working behind the counter greeted me with a happy smile. She seemed genuinely pleased to take my order. (Trust me, I’m a dentist – I know a happy smile!)

I ordered the omelet with roasted tomato, bacon, spinach, and Brie. It came with a side of home fries and fresh toast.

Executing the perfect omelet can be difficult, especially for somewhat busy restaurants that are focusing on a slough of other orders. However, this might’ve been the best omelets that I’ve ever had in my life.

The omelet had a nice golden flaky crust with a fluffy interior. The crispiness of the salty bacon perfectly offset the creamy and rich texture of the Brie cheese. The fresh spinach and roasted tomato added the perfect amount of earthiness to the savory omelet.

My mouth is watering just thinking about it. As far as sides go, I’m a sucker for home fries. While these home fries weren’t the best I’ve tried, they were still satisfying with a little bit of hot sauce. All in all, Terrace Street Café was a great experience. I’ll definitely have to make it back to try the lunch menu.

You can tell that the people working there truly care about the quality of your breakfast experience.
