Continuing Education for New Jersey Dentists
Dentistry is a very dynamic field, with new techniques and groundbreaking technology constantly emerging. It takes persistent effort for dentists like Dr. Spector to stay on top of all the new developments, but that’s the only way to provide our patients with the best possible care.
One way dentists stay abreast of this evolving field is through continuing education courses. Continuing education courses consist of hands-on training and lectures on new technology and other subjects that will enhance our ability to better serve our patients. That’s why the New Jersey State Board of Dentistry requires dentists to complete 40 hours of continuing education courses every two years in order to renew their license.
Dr. Spector’s Impressive Credentials
Dr. Spector has used education to upgrade his dental skills and knowledge in several ways. He completed a two-year program in Full Mouth Rehabilitation and Surgical Implantology. Dr. Spector is also a graduate of the Americus Center for Aesthetic Dentistry.
Dr. Spector is certified in the Hybridge Dental Implant technique for full mouth restoration. This revolutionary approach to full arch restoration replaces up to 12 teeth in either jaw with a single prosthesis using just 5 or 6 dental implants.
Dr. Spector has been recognized as a Fellow by two prestigious dental associations, the American Academy of General Dentistry and the International Congress of Oral Implantology. This is a significant accomplishment. Becoming a fellow with the ICOI requires a dentist to document a number of successful implant placements and complete 75 hours of continuing education.
Dr. Spector Teaches Fellow Dentists
Dr. Spector doesn’t just take continuing education courses — he’s also a talented instructor who’s helped numerous dentists improve their professional abilities. He’s served as a Clinical Associate Professor at New York University, teaching surgical and prosthetic implantology.
Dr. Spector is also a certified instructor of CAD/CAM Dental Technology for Patterson Dental, a major supplier of dental equipment and training. CAD/CAM is an innovative technology used by dentists to design, fabricate, and place dental restorations such veneers, bridges, crowns, and dental implants.
CAD/CAM is vastly superior to traditional methods for providing dental restorations. It enables dentists to serve our patients with a much greater degree of accuracy. CAD/CAM restorations are faster than more convenient than restorations that rely on taking a physical impression of the surgical site.
